Pet Quality of Life Assessment

If you're unsure about your pet's condition or whether it may be time to consider euthanasia, a Quality of Life Assessment with one of our veterinarians can help provide clarity and guidance.

During this consultation, we'll help you understand

  • Whether your pet may be experiencing pain or discomfort.
  • Signs of declining quality of life to watch for.
  • How to assess your pet's day-to-day wellbeing.
  • When the timing may be appropriate to consider next steps.

Our goal is to support you with clear, compassionate guidance so you can make the best decision for your pet.

At-Home Quality of Life Assessment

During an in-home visit, our veterinarian will conduct a comprehensive head-to-tail examination and take the time to understand your pet's daily life. This includes discussing their routine, mobility, appetite, hygiene, toileting habits, and any symptoms, as well as factors affecting their physical comfort, emotional state, and overall wellbeing.

We also review your pet's medical history and current medications to provide thoughtful, personalized guidance. In some cases, we may recommend ways to improve comfort and maintain quality of life. In others, we may gently explore whether euthanasia at home is the most compassionate option.

If that path is chosen, we can support you during the visit or schedule a future appointment at a time that feels right for you.
